Theng Bok, are you campaigning for Chua Soi Lek or for money?

.

According to Malaysiakini, Theng Bok who heads the Save MCA campaign is a maverick.

On checking my little kamus of Oxford dictionary, ‘maverick’ also means an undisciplined person.

Maybe Malaysiakini knows something about Theng Bok that the public do not?

Anyways, I was surprised at a Merdeka minum-minum session yesterday when a friend who happened to be an MCA Central Delegate (CD), asked me if I heard of rumours that Theng Bok is using the Save MCA campaign as a front.

Huh? What front? Isn’t it to save Chua Soi Lek?” I asked.

“You, ah. So straight. Never question, one. Always take at face value what newspapers analysts write. When are you going to learn to read between the lines, friend? Aiyoooooo,” said CD while shaking his head disapprovingly.

Eager to shift his disapproval elsewhere, I soothed him. “Why do you think he has an ulterior motive?” I asked.

“You think Theng Bok is so selfless, meh? Think! The last time he ‘saved MCA‘, Ong Ka Ting got booted out. Why?”

Think! Why is he saving MCA again and calling for EGM? Why?” CD is really getting excited now.

Please tell? I’m really lost now.” said I, defeated.

CD rolled his eyes towards heavens and got himself together. “Benefits, my friend.”

Huh?

“Aiyooooo. Got people do something for nothing, meh?” “Theng Bok is a lawyer, right?”

Yes?

“Theng Bok is having lots of construction developer friends wanting clearance for this and that from ministries. The minister don’t give, he’s in shit la, deal cannot get done, no approval, no money in, understand?”

“Last time minister no give, this time also no give, he’s more in shit, business more worse, developer friends no more confidence in him, his cable tak boleh pakai, lor,” CD made a thumbs down sign.

But Theng Bok said its for MCA he is saving.”

“Ceh! Where got people do something for nothing?” CD exclaimed.

“Got people sponsor a campaign for him to get famous and can somemore help get back his developer friends confidence, like luck falling from the sky, lar.”

Hmmmmmm…..

P/S: I think Theng Bok should quickly make an SD (Statutory Declaration) to save himself. Cannot do like Andy Lau hiding under those umbrellas. And its very ungentleman to take advantage of Chua Soi Lek’s predicament.

Selamat Menyambut Hari Kemerdekaan Malaysia ke52!

I’m tired of politicians/activists/religious officials carting out religion and God everytime our political parties are facing people and issues management problem.

When are we going to see political parties handle issues as they are by the horns without misleading the already worried public by mixing elements of religion and God into the issue?

Sure seems like everyone is unable or unwilling to work out direct solutions to issues.

Or is everyone just loving a dramatic life too much that we just skirt around the provisions already provided by some boring law?

Sigh… Thomas Hobbes* is still correct after all these years.

Selamat Hari Kemerdekaan Malaysia.

and may Malaysians continue to live and prosper by the law.

*

* I know. You never studied philosophy in school. Somemore philosophy was not in exam school syllabus. I feel sorry for you, you’re so helpless.

Anyways, Mr Hobbes said that homo sapiens will remain in a state of nature – that is, the state of war with one another until we set up a common power to protect us from each other and from external threat. This is possible only through our universal agreement: only our consent can bind us to obedience.

Who’s the common power? The Government, lar.
What’s consent? Abiding the law and order, lar.

Save MCA! Choice morsels for Ong Tee Keat and Chua Soi Lek supporters

MCA members a bit slow one.

After 5,000 years of culture, the chinese of Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) still cannot decide whether to uphold Confucius values or MTV values. (To sex or not to sex up, that is the question…) Some so ‘takut mati’ due to many donkey years of Mahathir serfdom and close association with the Ling kingdom have pleaded for truce aka scared shit to change.

As me maid has gone awol, this Bananachinese, while shopping for groceries from le wet market will also perform another great selfless act.

Yes! The great Banana will big heartedly venture to the cyber market to search for great chefs to cook up big bites and inflated bits every now and then to juice up them MCA feeble minds.

First serving from me take away kitchen, tada!

(Tell me if you need more salt & pepper, etc, will you?)

Big bites serving:

.

I still want to see Ong Tee Keat in Transport ministry until he has fulfilled the mission of putting all those involved in PKFZ scandal including Mr. ATM in jail. Wishful thinking…….
~ chef True Malaysian

..

We need leaders whom we can respect. Birds of a feather flock together. People who voted in Chua Soi Lek are probably like minded people. School students laugh at leaders like him. Some say if Chua can do such things and be accepted, it is okay for them to be involved in immoral activities too. Society will forget and later reward them. He should stay away from politics and focus on social services. Doesn’t MCA have leaders of honour?
~ chef Malaysian 1957

..

Yes, by all means get the EGM convened! Let the MCA members decide. This is as it should be.
~ chef Loyal malaysian

Inflated bits (as insisted by the Edison Chen stable)

.

Please reinstate CSL and install him as the president. In gratitude he may share his success secret of how to lie to family and his “arcane viagra consumption” techniques especially for all the old folks in the picture.
~ chef Ichigo

..

I thought, Cina hold on to their culture value tightly but it looks like some Ah Pek in MCA don’t. If they do, CSL pasti kena mati lemas di sangkar babi! Kalau CSL lead MCA then Edison Chen will be the best candidate for VP! This is Ah Pek style of Malaysia Boleh!
~ chef Budaya Apek

..
I am so happy! Uncle Chua can now focus on movie acting career full time. Woo hoo!

A question to MCA members and bloggers: You want your party to reform or stay unreformed?

.

As reported by Malaysiakini:-

Chua Jui Meng speaking at a dinner in Bukit Mertajam last night said:

…it was unprecedented for Umno leaders to just stand by and watch a defenceless Ong Tee Keat being subject to mounting attacks and pressure by his detractors over his handling of the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal .

Punished for exposing truth

“Ong is the president of the second largest BN component party and no one from Umno is protecting him.

“I find it strange,” said Chua, who lost is challenge for the MCA presidency to Ong in the party elections last October.

MCA president Ong is already facing a suit by Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd’s (KDSB) chief executive officer and Bintulu parliamentarian Tiong King Sing over his outspoken and transparent handling of the PKFZ issue.

I must declare, that for the first time in a very long time, MCA is demonstrating its will to try to clean itself up.

And yet, beyond the cursory noises made by its central delegates, the support for reform is very deafeningly silent from its 1 million layman members who:

– wear MCA name in their business networking,
– have benefited from MCA’s China network,
– have benefited from MCA’s Taiwan network,
– claim to want a more meritorious politics,
– claim to speak out on behalf of Chinese community,
– claim to want to save MCA

Isn’t it true that Chinese values balance in the environment for a harmonious living and business?

What are you going to do now to ensure MCA stays on to balance UMNO’s presence in BN?

Would you muster up your values of 5,000 years to courageously speak up for your party’s attempt to redeem itself so that it can finally become a political party with substance?

Can you stand up to voice support for MCA reform. Or are you going to run away as usual? Or opt to take refuge with the Pakatan Rakyat and make PR so strong that it replaces UMNO to become the next lord of Malaysia?

Sheesh…. do something quick to help your MCA, if you want to see a 2 party system flourish in Malaysia.

MCA members and MCA bloggers, Malaysians are all watching your next moves.

P/S:

Saving individuals like the stubborn Ong Tee Keat or the tainted Chua Soi Lek should never be more important than saving your party MCA. Choose wisely with an eye on your community’s future.

MCA’s Ong Tee Keat seeks new 1Malaysia stars of blogging generation

.

BOLEHLAND, Aug 21 — MCA mogul Ong Tee Keat “OTK” wants you — an MCA star of the blogging generation. He does not want a member who can only talk, think, or look good on TV, but one who can do all that, and social network.

This past Sunday, OTK launched a new TV competition show on the MCA cable network called “OTK’s MCAStar” that, like Astro’s “Akademi Fantasia,” aims to find an unknown member who has the stuff to join Barisan Nasional “BN” stable of political stars.

But heading into a new decade of the 21st Century, winning fame and fortune as a politician is far different that when the maveric political party president, member of Parliament, writer and all-around debater first became a star his own right since the 1980s.

“The game has changed,” OTK told BOLEHNEWS this week.

“You have to understand how to be able to position & brand yourself,” he said. “Before, it was just at rhetorical talk, now you have to be able to deliver on your promises, you have to be able to do a great interview, you need to have a great blog, you have to have a sincere media presence.”

“OTK’s MCAStar,” which will premier next Sunday with 100 contestants, runs through 2009-2011 and has a format similar to “Akademi Fantasia” and other TV talent contests by eliminating member performers who fail to make the cut until a winner is crowned.

OTK said his show different from a “voyeuristic standpoint” because it gives behind-the-scenes footage of the member contestants interacting with each other and watching from backstage as their rivals perform.

He has another show airing on media called “Courage To Change, Creating New Values,” in which OTK seeks dedicated party members to back him on an overdue MCA party reform and support his agenda, “Reform of MCA.” The show began since he assumed Presidency in October 2008 with many undiscovered members competing for spots, and it runs through 2012.

“Hopefully I’ll be able to get a whole party, but if I’m able to get pieces, whatever I’m able to get,” he said. “It’s about giving some young and committed members an opportunity.”

OTK founded New Courage & Values Agenda in the 1990s and finding success as an unconventional political member who talk without fear or favour in regards to MCA politico, business and reformation. He has also committed to revamping PKFZ: The Tiong King Sing connection and CSL: The Moral & Political Dilemma of A Naughty Deputy. — BOLEHNEWS

Chua Soi Lek the naughty boy (Part II)

.

Our naughty boy is in big news again, providing some distraction from the seriousness of A(H1N1)…

“Chua told reporters at a press conference at a hotel in Petaling Jaya last night that while he had supported Ong in making a police report and in taking legal action, he had objected to the party itself getting involved. (Banana: See below response I got from an MCA insider)

“I expressed support to sue Tiong but I do not believe the party should be involved in it. It is a personal problem. Only the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission know the truth,” he said before chairing a meeting with other Barisan Nasional component parties. “I support the president in seeking legal redress but not dragging the party into it.” (Banana: Again, see below MCA insider’s response)

Chua also expressed his doubts about Ong’s “conspiracy theory” about a RM100 million campaign to destroy MCA. (There’s no smoke without a fire, Mr Chua?)

The Chinese media had reported that Ong told division leaders that there was a concerted effort to amass RM100 million to move a vote of no-confidence against him at an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) and that should the effort fail, there will be an attempt to form a new Chinese-based political party to replace MCA.

“The conspiracy theory has no basis,” Chua scoffed. “If you say there is a RM100 million campaign to topple him, the message is that MCA members only look for money — no money no talk. At the end of the day, people support politicians based on their performance.” (Banana: Please, Mr Chua, you are not being truthful here. Money makes frogs jump. Remember Ms Hee Yit Foong? Don’t tell me all politicians are good performers. Please ask Uncle Lim Kit Siang and Anwar Ibrahim for their opinion)

He also said that he thinks the party is at its lowest point in its history and if the “internal conflicts” continue, the party may not survive past the next general election. (Banana: What are you going to do to contribute to harmonious relationship in your party, Mr Chua?)

“The voters will replace MCA because we are not performing and involved with internal conflicts. We are elected to serve the people and not politics,” he said. (Banana: errr, Mr Chua, you were not elected at 308, remember? Tainted candidate is not acceptable according to Pakatan Rakyat?)

He also cited a case to reporters of “a senior MCA leader” who was arrested in Singapore, charged and jailed, likely referring to former MCA president Tan Koon Swan who was found guilty of criminal breach of trust. “We should let the law take its course,” he said. (Banana: Yes, totally agree with you, Mr Chua. Let law take its course. Btw, the law of the land still says fornification is illegal. Even though I pity you for being caught, the law is still the law.)

News source from The Malaysian Insider.

Unsatisfied, Banana did some snooping and got something from an MCA insider:

“On the issue of Ong Tee Keat:

1.  PKFZ issue is handled by OTK in capacity of minister. Minister Ong acted representing government to resolve the problem.

2.  Tiong King Sing allegations vs OTK is a case involving OTK in capacity as an individual. Note the legal demands issued in personal capacity on both sides.

3.  OTK holding position of MCA President has been accused by Tiong of taking money from Tiong purportly for MCA activities. Under societies Act, the President of a society is answerable to its members, hence, OTK in capacity of MCA President explained to members of MCA his side of the story. Last Sunday, the explanation to divisional leaders was held and accepted by the delegates.

So, you see, as different entities are involved in above cases, require different treatment even though it involved OTK the same man.”

Banana has a question for MCA.

With reference to item 3 above:

Session was closed door for invited members. How come a reporter who is not a delegate can publish the proceedings to public? Who gave permission to Malaysiakini reporter to sabo MCA internal meeting?

Najib’s supreme diplomacy; MCA delegates to fight for seats at AGM

It seems to me many Malaysians read newspapers and the online media with half awaken minds and comatosed logic. Only sex, scandals and more scandals can do magic to raise the poor zombies. (Don’t blame education system, only yourself to blame for refusing to kickstart your brain engine)

Didn’t BN already said each component party is their own boss within their respective political party?

No. 2 man Muhyiddin Yassin clearly clarified:
“All parties have their problems but the important thing its how to solve them. Whatever the problems, we must solve them ourselves.” (Bernama: “Don’t use media to solve internal problems“)

Starved for a scandal, the media is feverishly playing up the problems of Ong Tee Keat and Chua Soi Lek. Not so different from vultures waiting for the tempting flesh to feast on.

Eager for a fight to happen, the media is now speculating on a matter of importance only to MCA members and delegates.

Gone were the days when Malaysia newspapers reported facts. No wonder sales of newspapers goes down in parallel with its degeneration to thrashy tabloid. Readers are sending signals to newspapers to buck up on news facts, but unfortunately, the newspapers managers are too thick.

Not to be outdone, online media is also catching up on speculative hearsays aka gossip in their ‘news’ report. See how a simple matter has been elevated skyhigh on the scandal scale:

“Rumours have been swirling within MCA that Barisan Nasional (BN) chairperson and premier Najib Abdul Razak are not on the same page over the party’s annual general assembly, usually held by Aug 31. Many have seen this as a sign of Najib’s displeasure with MCA president Ong Tee Keat, over the latter’s public squabbles with deputy Dr Chua Soi Lek.” (Malaysiakini: “Najib not delaying MCA meet“)

The above is an exemplery example of poor journalism or rather of a reporter with extremely low competency in politics. News facts, dear reporter. Your job is not to spread rumours or hearsay.

The way I see it, its more like Najib is waiting for MCA’s Disciplinary Board to get its report to the Presidential Council’s decision.

Clever Najib certainly knows his diplomacy and this is an excellent show of respecting MCA’s rights to resolve its internal issues before he comes to open MCA’s AGM.

Yep, MCA the political party’s internal issue is entirely its own to resolve. Nobody who’s not a member or a delegate has got the locus standi to stick their grubby little fingers in matters relating to management of MCA.

Unless, of course, they are the main actors involved in a disciplinary issue. Unless, of course they want to see UMNO‘s balancing partner dies an early death. Devoid without its life partner, UMNO dies also. How devious.

Meanwhile, a big kudos to Najib. Good one. This is a real life example of leadership that I’ve been waiting for BN to demonstrate to 1Malaysia.
