Friend: BC, aren’t you going to blog on the BERSIH 2 brouhaha at all?

BC: No need, my dear. All the funnies have been spewed out already from Polis DiRaja Malaysia, Najib Razak, UMNO, PAS, Perkasa, MCA, PKR, DAP.

Ain’t nothing else left for me to articulate for the laughing bellies.

And on the harassment against the yellow colour, I’ve been wearing yellow on my skin since birth, nothing else can change me essence.

Wen JiaBao’s China

Filed under: Citizenry, Government, Malaysia, Politics — Tags: , , , , , — bananachinese @ 2:17 pm

A news from one of China’s embassies in the world says:

On the afternoon of April 27, local time, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived in Kuala Lumpur by special plane for an official visit to Malaysia. This visit is his first in six years.

In a written speech delivered at the airport, Wen said that Malaysia is a friendly neighbor of China and the two peoples share a time-honored traditional friendship. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 37 years ago, bilateral ties have been developing rapidly with frequent high-level visits, close people-to-people exchanges and fruitful cooperation in all areas. He said as developing countries, China and Malaysia had a lot of common interests and that deepening bilateral strategic cooperation in the new situation was in the fundamental interest of both nations and peoples and was also helpful to the stability and prosperity of the region.

During the visit, Wen is expected to discuss with his Malaysian counterpart Najib on bilateral ties and other international and regional issues of common concern and engage broadly with friends from many fields in Malaysia. “I hope that this visit will promote the traditional friendship between the two countries, deepen reciprocal cooperation and elevate the strategic cooperation between China and Malaysia to a higher level,” Wen said.

.

Want to know what does China stand for? First, we must learn some of its age old maxims.

“In learning, age and youth go for nothing: the best informed takes the precedence.”

What  it means:

The chief source of rank and consideration in China is certainly cultivated talent; and whatever may be the character of the learning on which it is exercised, this at least is a more legitimate as well as more beneficial object of respect, than the vulgar pretensions of wealth and fashion, or the accidental ones of mere birth.

Wealth alone, though it has of course some necessary influence, is looked upon with less respect, comparatively, than perhaps in any other country; and this because all distinction and rank arises almost entirely from educated talent. The choice of official persons, who form the real aristocracy of China, is guided, with a very few exceptions, by the possession of those qualities, and the country is therefore as ably ruled as it could be under the circumstances.

Oh, don’t forget this from the country acknowledged as a master in the art of government:

“To violate the law, is the same crime in the Emperor as in a subject.”

MCA’s AGM on 7 March and fresh elections 28 March

Boy did I have fun with MCA’s Central Committee supplying a ping pong like suspense this afternoon; following Twitter and Twitterers.

Maybe this year’s MCA Anniversary cum AGM should be tagged as “To hold, not to hold, kena hold, ordered to hold and have to hold”

See how some poor media friends have to play catch up with the changing by the hour decisions by the Malaysian Chinese Association central committee ‘leaders’…

Rise of the SDs… Let the third man speak?

Commenting on the case of the statutory declaration made by private investigator P. Balasubramaniam linking Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak with Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu, Bar Council president Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan said the statutory declaration was made in accordance with the procedure and sealed by a Commissioner of Oaths.

“A statutory declaration is a document that contains evidence given on oath. It is sworn before a commissioner for oaths. As in the case of all evidence given under oath, it cannot be withdrawn,” she said.

Ah… me just experienced a nostalgic moment re-living the Malaysia’s famous statutory declaration.

Nostalgic moment is re-lived again when I read Raja Petra‘s article from Malaysia-Today:

Did he or didn’t he? Let the third man speak

“Did the MCA president, Ong Tee Keat, receive RM10 million in cash from Kuala Dimensi’s Tiong King Sing? Ong says noTiong says yes. That means we need a third person to tell us which of the two is telling the truth. And that third person should be the one who packed the money and acted as the courier between the two.”

And so, we readers were regaled with a copy of a sworn statement by Tiong’s dutiful assistant, an Encik Azman Bin Abdul Rahman, who works in Tiong’s Political Department in Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak.

My impression was here’s a very time wasting effort. Why did the dude make a sworn statement in front of a lawyer?

Why did he not make a stab directly at the heart of the matter by making a real Statutory Declaration in front of a Commissioner of Oath? Does Tiong needs a strong collaborator for his Kuala Dimensi SB case, or doesn’t he?

Bloodhound, a commentator at Malaysia-Today made an astute observation:

Bloodhound, September 09, 2009 01:06:23

“This third party’s sworn statement may not be as concrete as made out to be especially if the person is still under the employment of Tiong King Sing because we all know that there is not much a BN warlord cannot do that law enforcers will not look the other way especially those with deep pockets.

An independent third party’s statement will be a better and more meaningful declaration.

Moreover, the sworn statement is dated 22nd August 2009 which means that it just recently signed which merely signifies that Tiong King Sing is pulling out all stops in order to pin the charge against Ong.

Probably, the person is told by his employer to make the statement in order to lend support to their effort to incriminate Ong or to damage his reputation. Employees of an interested party do not really provide strong support in tandem with their employer’s claims.

Now, regardless whether the events did or did not happen at all, the damage is already done and they are going for the jugular. Let’s see what Ong can come up with to counteract the claims.”

BananaC did some research and came up with some findings and… drumroll… ta da!…..

Under the ACT 13 STATUTORY DECLARATIONS ACT 1960 (REVISED – 1969), it must be signed before a Sessions Court Judge, Magistrate or Commissioner for Oaths (which it was not in this case, as it was signed in front of an advocate and solicitor).

Somemore, there’s a standard format for SD.

This “Witness Statement” ‘tak power’ lar.

Let’s hope Ali, Ah Chong and Muthu are not confusing this “Witness statement” as the sexy Statutory Declaration.

Tsk….tsk….tsk…

El Footo Shito! Lee Chong Meng is in?

Filed under: Citizenry, Life, Parliament, Politics — Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , — bananachinese @ 1:37 am

My chirpy insider was less chirpy a few hours ago.

He said if Mohammad Taib can get cleared by PM for carrying undeclared bag of cash into Australia and eloped with Sultan’s daughter, same luck also can bestow upon our gangster liaison. Or as Miwaki prefers, ‘pork seller’.

El footo shito.

Another 5 years more wait for a more deserving candidate.

MCA to put female candidate, Lee Chong Meng hopes dashed, careful DAP

I heard a delicious inside news that ole Dr Lee Chong Meng has zero hope to be announced as MCA’s candidate for Bukit Bintang.

Just like last time, this time a woman candidate will be put up. Dr. Ayam may be experiencing serious near term amnesia, he forgot that he put up a woman from his division in the 2004 GE in Bukit Bintang. Of course, that woman was a puppet put up because Dr. Ayam could not run because he had a court criminal case pending then.

This time, apparently MCA has got somebody more solid. My insider whispered this savvy woman could very well give a boost to help rejuvenate Bukit Bintang. Apparently, this woman has best credentials to offer exciting new leadership and hope to voters there. Chirpy insider has not yet told Malaysiakini.

Watch out, DAP, MDP!

Bukit Bintang voters, check out your potential new representative here.

Hindraf and Bersih love Lee Chong Meng or not?

I missed the Rose March. But my heart is with the people. Peace and love to all. Please stay strong in your conviction and show your support for the best candidate who dare to take up your issue this general election. As Mao said, “No matter if its a black cat or a white cat. If it catches the mice, its the good cat.”

Identify now your candidates and question them if they will take up your issue, what’s their action plan, timeline and most importantly, report card to you.

Speaking of report card, I’ll be damned if there is no objection to this opportunist Lee Chong Meng’s bid for candidacy.

Why has Malaysiakini not reported his day in court and silent about this guys blatant advertisement of himself as THE candidate for Bukit Bintang? Why no report of this guy’s condoning of gangsters?

I wonder if anybody still remember… He was rejected candidacy last GE because he’s got a court case for hitting his mistress. Yes, mistress. Yes, hitting a woman. Go and google out the juicy details from the chinese newspapers. Somebody help me… can’t read mandarin..

Give me a woman candidate so that I can get rid of this chauvinistic doc.

Get rid of Bukit Bintang gangster Lee Chong Meng!

That was my immediate response when a friend who votes in Bukit Bintang complained to me about this Dr. Lee Chong Meng.

Yes, he the Bukit Bintang branch MCA chairman. Yes, he the one who rounded up some cari makan people to complain about Bersih.

He showed me an sms quoting a Malay Mail report (15/2) that the doctor ayam on hearing a woman candidate might be sent by MCA to contest Bukit Bintang, said: It is unacceptable for a woman to lead in the golden triangle as there are lots of issues which only a man can handle. This area is a haven for the underworld. It is definately not easy to handle gangster and taikos if you are a woman.

Here we go again, a display of anti-woman courtesy of Lee Chong Meng. Must be very painful for this man to shoot his own foot after so many donkey years of trying to represent the Chinese of Bukit Bintang. My friend was seething mad at his insolence to suggest that Bukit Bintang voters do not want clean and fair election.

Friend, here’s a suggestion:

Give your vote to the woman candidate to effectively punish & spit on this arrogant man’s face.

It’s also more practical than wasting your precious vote on ole horse Fong Kui Lun. He’s low on utility if KL ever wants to emulate Singapore city.

Thaipusam IS public holiday for KL

Filed under: Announcement, Life, news, Politics — Tags: , , , , , , , , — bananachinese @ 1:04 am

Yeap folks, election is coming and the goodies are rolling out…

PM suddenly woke up and realised our Indian brothers/sisters need an additional public holiday. Samy Vellu said over TV3 that since 1986, Thaipusam was not a public holiday for KL.

I never knew this PM can be such a nice guy and so considerate to the Indian community. Perhaps…someone must have reminded PM about making Thaipusam a public holiday wef. 23/1/08.

Would PM have announced a holiday if the general elections were not around the corner?

Sniff, sniff, sniff… it doth somewhat smells somethin’ like an open bribe to our Indian brethrens.

Maybe the HINDRAF 5 deserve some credit for getting us this fast tracked public holiday. Poor Samy after 28 years was unable to do it.

Whilst we are at it, can I propose that Good Friday and Easter Sunday be declared a holiday for KL? Can? Can?
